Our GP practice teams have been presented with a specially designed Covid Star badge to wear to recognise their role in supporting the NHS to care for local communities during the pandemic. The Covid Stars will arrive on the second anniversary of the initial full lockdown announced by the Prime Minister on 23 March 2020.
Operose Health, which runs 66 GP practices in England, will present over 1,600 staff with the Covid Stars to say thank you for their hard work and dedication to their patients over the past two years.

To mark their outstanding commitment to patient care during the pandemic, I am delighted that every member of staff who has been part of our team over the past two years will be receiving the Operose Health Covid Star. I hope they wear it with pride.
”The Covid Star People’s Medal is the work of renowned British public artist Harry Gray (MEDAL INTRODUCTION | harrygray), to honour NHS staff and care workers in the UK for their service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
In January 2022, Operose Health became an accredited Living Wage Employer with the announcement of the Operose Health Living Wage, a permanent commitment to pay all staff at least 10 pence above the current National or London Living Wage.
